Our final two groups of American Explorers are closing out their last week of expedition, completing the summer programming with North Carolina Outward Bound.
This adventure began on June 8 and over the course of six weeks, challenged, developed and nurtured 77 young leaders. This summer was an opportunity for them to push themselves beyond their physical and emotional limits, all the while encouraging their group mates to believe they could do the same. Wavering between thoughts of “I can” and “I can’t” as they approached mountains of struggle and vast oceans of unknowns, they pushed forward. In the end, they did more than complete a 22-day expedition; they conquered some of their biggest fears and proved to themselves that anything is possible.
They are American Explorers, and we are so very proud of them.
